On February 2nd, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take center stage at the inaugural Bharat Mobility Global Expo, India’s first and largest-ever exhibition dedicated to the future of transportation. This momentous occasion will take place at the Bharat Mandapam, in New Delhi and is bound to produce a colorful display of latest technologies, sustainable solutions that cut through the barriers set by scientific innovations revolutionising transportation. Showcasing to exhibitors beyond 800 from more than 50 countries and key participation by some prominent names like Ashok Leyland, Ather Energy, Honda, Hyundai and BMW as moment of defining for India’s mobility. Sliding in on top of that are the big businesses, new companies just starting, government agencies , academic institutions, all meeting for conferences and panel discussions.

Delhi’s New EV Policy: Yes, you read that right. Delhi, the city that knows a thing or two about traffic jams and smog, is gearing up to get rid of smog and embrace the buzz of electric engines. And at the centre of this change is a revised EV Policy, which is currently awaiting the Cabinet nod. So, back in August 2020, they rolled out this Electric Vehicle (EV) policy, hoping to get 25% of all vehicles sold to be EVs by 2024. It was supposed to last for 3 years. Well, now that December has come and gone, the extension is up, and officials are still waiting to see if they’re going to give it another round of time.

They are powering their brand new 3.3 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu from a combination of wind and solar power thanks to a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with local renewable energy provider Cleantech Solar. The 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit this week was filled with excitement and at the centre of it was a bold commitment from Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Chairman Mukesh Ambani pledged the group’s support in propelling Gujarat to become a global leader in green development, a move with far-reaching implications for the state and India’s renewable energy landscape.  During the opening of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit on January 10, Ambani further stated that during the previous 10 years, Reliance has invested over $150 billion, or Rs 12 lakh crore, in building world-class assets and capacities throughout India. He said that about one-third of money has been invested in Gujarat. RIL’s commitment to the green development of Gujarat is an important step towards a sustainable future not only for the state but for India as a whole.
